MY HOME Disability Service
41 Cooper Road – Birrong MY HOME is the first care & minding facility for disabled children established by the Muslim community in Sydney. The center was inaugurated by The Honorable John Della Bosca, where it commenced operation in April 2007. MY HOME Disability service center is managed and supervised by The Australian Council of Women Affairs (ACWA) with coordination with Dr.Ibrahim Abu-Mohammad. The center accepts disabled children or children with down syndromes aged 16 years and over. The center consists of a large activity room, a large outdoor relaxation and play court, an admin office, bed rooms, and facilities fully equipped for disabled people. The project was fully funded by generous donations from community members. Running cost is expected to be around $100,000 per annum. The project requires financial support in the first two years in order to attract more customers and become self sufficient. |
